24.65 Gram California Rare Specimen

Item # HGS-012
(SOLD)

Product Description

An Extremely Rare 24.65 Gram California Gold & Quartz Specimen!  In 12 years of handling natural gold, this is without question the most magnificent high grade specimen I have ever had the pleasure of holding. It has multiple large Octahedron Crystals popping out all over the specimen. I can only image what the crystalline structure must look like inside of the quartz.  As there are many points of new crystals that are starting to expose themselves on the backside of this specimen. Continuity test shows all of the gold is connected to itself. I have been tempted to etch the quartz away with acid, but have decided not to mess with this  perfect natural specimen. This specimen is also very heavy for it’s size which tells me there are lots of these beautiful crystals of gold inside!

This Monarch was found a few years ago with a metal detector in the Auburn gold district of California.  I have decided not to list a fixed sale price on this beautiful creation, and have chosen to leave it open to serious offers. I have heard the term museum quality used over and over in the natural gold market, and I don’t like to use it unless I have a pretty stellar piece. However this specimen is beyond stellar!! I have done the best I can to capture it’s beauty with my camera, but there really isn’t anything like holding it. The gold in this specimen has a very rich and lustrous pure color, which makes it increasingly rare as this type of gold typically contains a higher percentage of silver. This specimen is extraordinary!

It will be shipped in the Display case photographed.
