It has a little history and story. It was found in 1962 by a damn worker on the Stanislaus River in California. Evidently when the water of the damn was diverted, he saw it laying wedged in a section of exposed bedrock, where all the other less heavy gravels had been washed away.
Natural gold & quartz specimens of this size & caliber are extremely rare, valuable & highly collectible. It weighs in at a whopping 1826.1 grams or 58.71 ozt. with the specific gravity test showing it contains 1146.09 grams or (36.85 ozt.) of very pure & pretty gold contained throughout! A continuity test also shows that all the gold is connected to itself throughout the entire specimen.
It has been very well named, as it does look like a heart organ, with vessels of thick & blobby gold shot all through it.
