CA. Gold 1857 SS Central America Shipwreck

Item # SSCA-001
(SOLD)

Product Description

Not only is this authenticated natural California placer gold from one of the greatest gold rushes in history, but it has also been recovered from one of the greatest shipwrecks in history. The SS Central America, also known as “The Ship of Gold” was transporting gold from the California Motherlode in 1857 when it sank to a depth of 8000 feet below sea level about 160 miles off the coast of North Carolina.

Gold coins, bars, and nuggets from this shipwreck typically sell for ridiculous amounts of money, and this is your chance to own a little piece of history from these two historic places for a fraction of the price.

This slab contains 1.5 grams of nice chunky flakes that originated in the California gold rush, they were then recovered about 130 years later in the shipwreck discovery. It has been authenticated by Collectors universe (PCGS) and comes with the certificate of authenticity photographed. I had a couple of these, so you might not receive the exact certified item number as photographed. Other than the number and natural variances in the placer gold, all of these are identical.

This is an amazing collectable and conversational piece, as well as a great investment!
